by yv at holdfast, 24 Jun 2015

On 24 March 2015 Council resolved to undertake community engagement in line with Council’s Community Consultation and Engagement Policy to seek the view of the community to amending the Permitted Use Clause of the lease for the Broadway Kiosk to allow for the application of a Liquor Licence.

Subsequently public consultation commenced on 28 April 2015 and closed on 12 May 2015. A total of 239 submissions were received, either in hard copy or through Council’s on-line community site with the majority in favour to amend the lease.

At its meeting on 23 June 2015 Council considered the results of the public consultation and subsequently resolved to allow for the lease to be amended to allow for a 12 month trial with the serving of alcohol only permitted between the hours of 8am and 10pm Monday to Saturday and Sunday 11am to 10pm Sunday.

The next step is for the Lessee to make an application to the Office of Liquor and Gambling - now known as Consumer and Business Services for this for a liquor licence.
