Results of the 2019 Engagement and next steps
At its meeting held on 10 September 2019, Council resolved to undertake community engagement in line with Council’s Community Consultation and Engagement Policy to seek the view of the community to amending the lease for the Broadway Kiosk to allow for an application vary the terms of the lease to enable it to apply for an amendment to the liquor license to allow the serving of alcohol on Sundays from the earlier time of 8am (currently 11am).
Subsequently, community engagement was commenced on 8 October 2019 for a period of twenty-one (21) days, concluding on 28 October 2019. A total of 100 submissions were received, either in hard copy or through Council’s on-line community site with the majority in favour to amend the lease.
At its meeting on 10 December 2019, Council considered the results of the public consultation and subsequently resolved to allow for the lease to be amended to enable the Broadway Kiosk to apply for an amendment to the liquor license to allow the serving of alcohol on Sundays from 8am.
The next step is for the Lessee to make an application to the Office of Liquor and Gambling - now known as Consumer and Business Services for this for a liquor licence.”
