Construction dates for the Coast and Transition zones

As you are aware, we brought forward the construction schedule for the Coast and Transition zones to align with the State Government’s temporary closure of the Glenelg tram line service as part of its Tram Grade Separation Projects.

The project was due to be completed by the end of 2027, but has been brought forward 12 months and is now expected to be completed in the second half of 2026.

Last week, we provided information on road closure dates for the coming months as work progresses along Jetty Road.

We can now advise on the expected completion dates for different stages of the project.

4 August to 29 December 2025

The current construction site continues to expand east on Jetty Road and north along Colley Terrace, to Hope Street, until December 2025.

Works anticipated to be completed during this time include:

  • Traffic lights and pedestrian crossing at the Jetty Road / Moseley Street intersection
  • The roadway, parking bays, paved footpaths and garden beds between Moseley Square and Sussex Street
  • The roadway, parking bays, most paved footpaths and garden beds between Sussex Street and Nile Street
  • The roadway, tram stops and parking bays between Nile Street and Gordon / Partridge streets
  • The Gordon / Partridge streets intersection road works and intersection works subject to Service Authority that needs to be undertaken to complete this work.


    September 2025 to March 2026

  • Works anticipated to be completed during this time include:

  • Colley Terrace and the interface with Moseley Square (the plaza area)
  • Outstanding footpath work and garden beds along Jetty Road between Nile Street and Gordon / Patridge streets

  • January to August 2026

    Works anticipated to be completed during this time include:

  • Side street interfaces with Jetty Road
  • Any outstanding works along Jetty Road
