Consultation has concluded
We were successful in receiving funding through 'Fund My Neighbourhood' to establish a community garden in Brighton thanks to an application submitted by Brighton Community Garden Inc.
Community engagement was previously held in April 2018 around the establishment of Brighton Community Garden at Dover Square Reserve, South Brighton. Post consultation it was determined that this wasn't the best location to proceed with this proposal.
From the results of our first engagement and further research, Bowker Oval Reserve has been selected as the preferred location for the Brighton Community Garden.
Brighton Community Garden Incorporated's wish is to create a Community Garden within the local area of the City of Holdfast Bay. The purpose of this garden will be to unite the community, promote physical and mental health and create a space where people can learn more about sustainability, organic principles and healthy living.
We seek your feedback on this garden being established at Bowker Oval Reserve, North Brighton.
Community engagement opened for 24 days from Tuesday 20 November to Thursday 13 December 2018.
