Stage 3 and 4 - Oval Precinct Upgrades

In May 2021, Council received $1.4 million from the State Government to complete Stages 3 and 4 of the masterplan. Council has committed a further $1.4 million, for a total budget of $2.8 million to complete the next stages of the masterplan.

Completed projects:
  • Demolition of the old away change rooms on the south eastern side of the oval occurred - May 2021
  • New football change rooms constructed and completed - October 2021
  • Indented car parking along Williams Avenue completed - February 2022
  • New football goals erected - March 2022
Next steps:
  • Behind goal catch nets and cricket sight screens upgrade – December 2022
  • LED scoreboard and structure upgrade – February 2023
  • Williams Avenue laneway/rear oval access, landscape and pavement upgrade – April 2023 (pending detailed design)
  • Cricket practice [itches upgrade to SACA standard – September 2023 (pending detailed design)
  • North eastern spectator mound upgrade to include enhanced spectator amenities, DDA viewing area, play space, tiered seating, landscaping – September 2023 (pending detailed design)
  • North eastern toilet block upgrade – October 2023 (pending detailed design)
  • Margaret Messenger Reserve upgrade to include fitness stations, 3 on 3 basketball court, shelter and BBQ, irrigated turf kick-about area, paths and landscaping - information on community engagement will be advised January 2023 with works to commence later in 2023
