New Fencing to protect Kingston Park Coastal Reserve

4 October 2019

New fencing will be erected to protect Kingston Park Coastal Reserve and timed parking will be introduced to increase parking space availability.

Construction of new fencing adjacent to the car park will improve public safety by preventing vehicles from accessing the reserve and adjacent shared-use coastal path.

It will allow the opportunity to protect and revegetate this section of the reserve, which along with the Tjilbruke Spring, is a registered Aboriginal Heritage site. It is of great cultural importance to the Kaurna people due to its anthropological and archaeological significance.

Parking is still available in the car park which is located adjacent to the reserve, next to the caravan park.

The introduction of 3 hour timed parking at this car park will ensure a better turnover of parking spaces.

Construction of the new fencing will begin on 16 October 2019.

Further work will be undertaken by the City of Holdfast Bay over the next 12 months on the Spring and Reserve.
