Renewal work in the City zone began in the spring of 2024 and includes:

• Improved stormwater network to reduce ponding on the footpaths, parking bays and the road
• Installation of new continuous footpaths on side streets and laneways to meet Disability Discrimination Act standards and give pedestrians priority over vehicles
• Resurfacing of Jetty Road
• New Juperana pavers on the footpath
• Increased greenery and use of water-sensitive urban design elements to reduce urban heat
• New street furniture
• A new entry statement at the Brighton Road end of Jetty Road.

Construction in the City zone was completed in September 2025.
