Gordon / Partridge Streets intersection road resurfacing works
21 May 2026
Road resurfacing works at the Gordon and Partridge Streets intersection will begin at 6am on Monday, 25 May 2026, and continue until Friday, 12 June 2026. This will include a four-day full closure of the intersection from 9 June to 12 June.
The work will include structural upgrades to the road and a new road surface to improve the condition and longevity of the intersection.
As part of these works, asphalt resurfacing will also take place at the eastern end of Jetty Road (between the Gordon and Partridge Streets intersection and Brighton Road) to address a defect in the top layer of asphalt identified several months ago. This work will be carried out at no cost to Council and ratepayers.
Work at this busy intersection was scheduled towards the end of the Transforming Jetty Road project, rather than during the main roadworks on the western end of Jetty Road in 2025, to help maintain traffic flow and access along Jetty Road and the precinct.
Due to the nature of the work and possible weather impacts, weekly updates will be provided outlining changes to traffic conditions and vehicle access.
Detailed Traffic Changes:
Week 1 - from 6am Monday 25 May to 6am Monday 1 June 2026
