Works at the Gordon and Partridge Streets intersection will resume next week following a temporary pause due to this week’s severe weather.

The intersection works are now entering the final stage and include structural upgrades to the road and a new road surface to improve the intersection's condition and longevity.

Works will continue under an updated program, including some night works.

As these final activities are undertaken, there will be some temporary changes to traffic conditions in the area.

Detailed Traffic Changes:

From 6am Tuesday 9 June to 5am Friday 12 June

Traffic Movements at the Gordon / Partridge intersection:

• North–south travel along Gordon Street and Partridge Street will remain available
• Southbound traffic on Gordon Street:
  • Vehicles can continue straight through the intersection to Partridge Street
  • No left or right turns onto Jetty Road
• Northbound traffic on Partridge Street:
  • Vehicles can continue straight through the intersection to Gordon Street
  • Left turn turns onto Jetty Road (westbound) permitted
  • No right turn onto Jetty Road (eastbound)
• Eastbound traffic on Jetty Road (from Colley Terrace):
  • Left turn onto Gordon Street permitted
  • No straight-through or right-turn movements at the intersection
• Jetty Road (City zone / eastern side between the intersection and Brighton Road):
  • No through access to the Gordon / Partridge Streets intersection
  • A temporary turnaround area will be available at the eastern end of Jetty Road (near the intersection).
  • Approximately five car parks will be temporarily used to create this turnaround area and machine storage area for the intersection.
  • Access to local businesses within the City zone will be maintained.

Local streets (including Jetty Street, Eitzen Street, Newmans Lane and Rose Street) will continue to operate as normal, supporting access for customers, deliveries and services.

Traffic management will be in place to assist motorists.

Full closure - Friday 12 June

A full closure of the Gordon and Partridge Streets intersection will be in place from 5am Friday 12 June to 5am Saturday 13 June.

During this time, there will be no vehicle access available through the intersection in any direction.

There will also be no vehicle access from Jetty Road to Jetty Street. Jetty Street will operate as a two-way street, with vehicles required to enter and exit via Augusta Street.

Detours will be in place, with signage and traffic management staff assisting road users.

Public transport

Tram services, which have been temporarily terminating at Brighton Road (Stop 15), are scheduled to resume normal services to Moseley Square from Saturday 13 June.

Some bus diversions will remain in place during the works and will resume normal operations from Saturday 13 June. For the latest service updates, please visit the Adelaide Metro website.

Pedestrian Access

Pedestrian access will be maintained in all directions throughout the intersection works.

2 Hour Free Car Parking

Two-hour free customer car parking continues to be available in both the Partridge Street car parks.
