Improvements to the stormwater system

29 September 2025

Improvements to the stormwater system at the western end of Jetty Road, Glenelg and into Colley Terrace take another step forward this week, with preparations including asphalt removal, trench digging, and moving existing third-party services now underway and continuing into October.

The current kerb and water stormwater system on Colley Terrace, between Jetty Road and Hope Street, is being replaced with new underground stormwater pipes and a trench grate system, which collects surface water and directs it to the underground system.

This new stormwater system is essential to allow for the roadway to be at the same level as the footpaths, which is a major feature of the Coast zone of Jetty Road, providing a seamless transition from Moseley Square into Colley Terrace and Jetty Road up to Sussex Street.

The new stormwater pipes are expected to be installed mid-week as part of the overall Transforming Jetty Road Glenelg project.
