New palms now in place

6 March 2026

Another milestone in the Transforming Jetty Road Glenelg project was reached today with two large palm trees craned into place into a garden bed on Colley Terrace, near the Glenelg Library.

Standing 6.6m tall, and weighing about 4 tonnes each, the trees’ fronds will remain tied up for six weeks while the trees become established in their new environment.

More low-level planting will also go into the garden beds, replacing the petunias which were planted to add some colour to the area for the Christmas and New Year period.
