Significant milestone reached

9 October 2025

An exciting milestone has been reached this week as part of the Transforming Jetty Road Glenelg project.

Paving across the Milton Street junction has been laid to create the first continuous footpath in the Coast and Transition zones of Jetty Road, Glenelg, which is west of Gordon / Partridge streets intersection.

Continuous footpaths are an important feature of the project and the increased focus on pedestrian safety as they meet current Disability Discrimination Act standards and give pedestrians priority over vehicles.

In the City end of Jetty Road, a continuous footpath was installed over the Rose Street junction.

Paving will continue east and west of Milton Street in the parking bays initially, followed by the eastern side of Moseley Street.
