Traffic lights ready to go live

12 January 2026

Final preparations are now underway to test and commission the traffic lights sequencing for the newly installed traffic lights and pedestrian crossing at the Jetty Road / Moseley Street intersection.

This is a significant milestone in the Transforming Jetty Road Glenelg project and will provide pedestrians with protected times to cross this busy area while still allowing traffic to flow through the area efficiently.

The light sequencing will be tested at 7am on Tuesday 13 January 2026, with traffic management personnel on site to help guide traffic if necessary. The testing should take no longer than an hour.

Continuous operation of the traffic lights will go live from 7am on Thursday 15 January 2026.

Temporary signage will be installed on Durham Street, Moseley Street and Jetty Road to notify vehicles and pedestrians approaching the intersection of the change in traffic operations.

While Colley Terrace remains under construction, Durham Street will continue to operate in a southerly direction, with access to Jetty Road via a left hand turn only.

All vehicles exiting Durham Street must give way to pedestrians and other vehicles and new line markings and traffic devices will be installed at the Durham Street / Jetty Road junction.

Moseley Street traffic will also be directed onto Jetty Road via a right hand turn only during the Colley Terrace construction works.

The Transforming Jetty Road Glenelg project remains on track to be completed in the second half of 2026.
