    Who are YACSA?

The Youth Affairs Council of South Australia (YACSA) is the peak body that represents both young people and the sector that supports them. They provide advice and knowledge that is informed by the thoughts, opinions and ideas of young people and the sector. Find out more about YACSA at www.yacsa.com.au .

Has anything been done before in this space?

Council previously developed a Youth Development Directions Plan in 2004 that is now out of date and no longer revelant to the development of young people, resourcing and trends in the sector.

Council endorsed a new Youth Policy in 2017, providing direction for the future provision of youth activities across Council.  With this policy now in place there is a need for a strategic direction via a Youth Action Plan incorproating recommendations for youth services delivered and supported by Council.

Council has contracted the Youth Affairs Council of South Australia (YACSA) to undertake a council-wide consultation with young people to development the City of Holdfast Bay Youth Action Plan.

    What is considered youth?

Young people aged between the ages of 12 years to 25 years.
