Warmer weather brings Glenelg Town Hall Restoration closer to completion

Glenelg Town Hall Restoration Update

Restoration works at the Glenelg Town Hall are progressing steadily, with significant façade repairs now complete across large sections of the building.

Works commenced in May, however the particularly wet winter, together with persistent moisture within the building fabric, has resulted in significantly longer drying times than anticipated.

Detailed scaffold-access inspections have also identified additional areas of deterioration that could not be fully assessed before works commenced. The team has progressively repaired these areas to ensure a durable, long-term outcome for this important heritage building.

With warmer weather arriving, drying conditions are improving, and the team looks forward to increased progress over the coming weeks. While some scaffold-based works remain, the project is moving into its final stages, and we remain optimistic that scaffold removal can begin later this year, subject to suitable weather conditions and completion of the remaining repairs.
